[00:00:00]
Jo: Hello, beautiful soul. Welcome back to the podcast. This is actually take two on this podcast episode, because I recorded it and then lost all of the audio, so fingers crossed that this one is the [00:01:00] one that makes it. So if you are new here, hello, I'm so glad that you are here and are in my world. If you are one of my loyal listeners, I'm so glad to have you back this week. As always, I love putting out these episodes for y'all. So if you're enjoying them, go ahead and leave a review on iTunes or Spotify, wherever you are listening to this episode. They mean so much to me. Now without further ado, let's go ahead and just dive into this episode. Today, we're talking about your subconscious or unconscious programs. And for the sake of this episode, if I say subconscious or unconscious, I'm referring to the same thing. The part of your mind that lies below the surface, the part of your mind that actually controls 95% of your daily thoughts, behaviors, and actions. That's pretty huge. So because it controls [00:02:00] so much of your life. I think personally that it's in our best interest to put things in there that actually do us good that help us achieve the things that we want to achieve to help us live the life that we desire to live. Now. I'm discovering what is in your subconscious or unconscious mind can get a little tricky, right? And it's not like you just peek in there and all of a sudden you find everything. No. It's more like peeling back the layers of an onion and each level that you get to in life, you encounter different beliefs, different stories, different patterns that have helped you get to that level, but need to change in order for you to get to the next level. And that's a pretty beautiful thing, right? When we're playing a video game and that's really what life is, is a game. And each level that you get to requires a different skillset. Maybe you unlock a different part of the map and[00:03:00] all of a sudden the things that applied to you in the last part of the map don't necessarily apply to you in this part you're having to relearn how to navigate. And discover what the point of this level is. And how to get to the next level. When we're talking about that part of your mind, that controls so much of your life. I invite you to start thinking about it like your mind is a supercomputer. It is the most high-tech an amazing supercomputer you will ever have in your life. It is constantly growing and adapting and we can reprogram it. It is possible to reprogram it. And you can do that through things like neuro-linguistic programming techniques. You can do that through repetition affirmations. You can do that through hypnosis talking directly to the subconscious mind, you can even do that through, kundalini yoga and some different somatic techniques. But we're [00:04:00] not talking about reprogramming in this episode, we are talking about discovering and uncovering your subconscious patterns. Now, when we're thinking about our subconscious mind, like a super computer, like a computer. I want to, to just imagine yourself sitting at your computer. Right now. You open it up and it's called an operating system, which boots your computer up, turns it on and it starts running. And then you have different programs like your internet browser. And you have different programs that play your music and send text messages, whatever that may be your word process or your XL spreadsheets, all of that kind of stuff, or your different programs. And they're all stored in different places. The same goes for your mind. How freaking crazy. When I learned this, it like completely changed the game for me. So one of the very first techniques that I did for myself was to take [00:05:00] Doritos and Coca-Cola and switches that I did not like them anymore. And when I was pregnant with my daughter, I had a Coca-Cola and Doritos addiction. It had gotten bad. Every single day it was drinking two or three Coca-Cola's and eating almost a whole family size bag of Doritos. It was not okay. So one of the very first techniques that I did on myself was to take those two items and not like them anymore. You do that by discovering where you store this information. And switching it to where you store information, that of things that you don't like. For example I'm not a fan of Pepsi. Because when I was younger, Pepsi used to give me migraines, sorry, associate Pepsi with migraines. I won't drink it. I don't like the way it tastes. So because this drink is similar to Coca-Cola. I was able to bring up the picture that I have of Coca-Cola in my mind, it's called an internal representation. When you think about [00:06:00] something most people have a picture of it in their minds. And if you don't have a picture of it like me, I'm not good at visualizing, but I know all of the qualities. So maybe it's something that you feel, maybe it's something that you hear. But for most people, they're able to pull up a picture in their mind. Now for me, like I said, I don't necessarily see it very clearly, but I'm able to tell you all of the qualities that it has. So when you pull up this picture in your mind, You have certain qualities. And these are called submodalities. And do you really just pay attention to what those qualities are. Is it near or far? Is it off to one side or the other, is it right in the center? Is it brighter dim? Is it clear or foggy? Does it have any feelings associated with it? Does it have any sounds associated with it? And then you really just get clear on all of these things for both items. And then you switch where you store this information for the thing that [00:07:00] you like to the thing that you don't like. Then all of a sudden. You don't like it anymore. So for the Coca-Cola and the Doritos. Every time I taste Coca-Cola to this day. I'm like, Ooh. I feel like I'm going to get a migraine. To this day, my daughter is almost four years old. And it only took like 10 minutes. Tops. To do both the Coca-Cola and the Doritos for myself. Now with the Doritos, I didn't necessarily want to hate them. I mapped them over to another tortilla chip called Julio shows and I don't necessarily care for the seasoning on the chips now I'll eat them if they're the only thing there. But I don't go out of my way to eat them. So same thing with Doritos. Now that I've mapped them over to the Julio chips, I don't go out of my way to eat them, but I will still eat them if they're the only thing there. That was a big difference going from eating them so much. To not eating them at all. That's just one of the tiny but [00:08:00] mighty shifts that you can make with your subconscious mind. In an instant. Because change can happen in an instant no more 21 days makes a habit. Now we're switching things in one session. And then strengthening that neural pathway, that neural connection. For the better habit for the habit that you want to have instead from that point forward, instead of trying to a use all of your willpower to make a habit happen. We store certain information in certain spots in our mind. And that's like the files on our computer. We can click and drag a file from one spot to another. And then we have the systems. The programs that are running in the background to make sure everything flows smoothly and that all of our apps are talking to each other and we're getting all of the notifications and all of the things that we need to be made aware of throughout the day. And those are our beliefs and values and meta-programs and programs. The conditioning [00:09:00] that we grew up with. And these too can be changed if we are running on an outdated operating system, outdated programs. We can update them. We don't have to be stuck running the same outdated programs on like this dinosaur computer that causes things to run slowly or glitch all the time. We don't have to stay in that operating system or in that programming, we can upgrade them. And we are trying to discover what these programs are. It's like peeling back the layers of an onion. Discovering these programs discovering our unconscious patterns can be done in a multitude of ways. I will always give you multiple ways of doing things. Because there are many ways to skin, a cat, and I have no idea where that statement came from and I need to figure out a different way to say that same thing and have the same effect. If you have any suggestions, [00:10:00] let me know. Well, there are many ways to do things and there really is no one universal right way to do something. What works for me might be a little bit different for you. And what works for me in this stage of my life might work a little bit differently in the next stage. So I always want to offer you a multiple ways of doing things. So that you have a different perspective on how to do things. And I also want to point out the importance of doing this kind of work of discovering your subconscious or your unconscious programs. Because as Carl Young said he was a Swiss psychiatrist. Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate. And I don't know about you, but I want to live my life the way that I want to live it. I don't want to feel stuck in a certain way of being, or doing things. I want to have a fabulous life. So. If you want to have fabulous life also, and not be a victim or [00:11:00] tied to your unconscious patterns. We can start discovering what they are by asking yourself deep questions. Deep quality questions. And when you're answering these questions, just allow the first thing that comes up to come out. And what this does is this stream of consciousness, style of writing of answering questions allows us to tap into that unconscious part of ourselves. When we start getting on a roll and just letting things spill out of us we're able to pick up on things that we wouldn't have said consciously. Some of the things that come out that surprise you. That's how, you know, like, oh, that's not a conscious thought that I've had. We can also look at your life as it is right now. Are there patterns or things that you see are repeating themselves? Are you constantly stuck in the same relationship cycles or patterns? With a different partner. Are you always stuck with the same [00:12:00] shit different day type of situation where you have the same problems or the same things come up day in and day out. Do you always have a crack in your windshield for some reason you get it fixed. And then the new windshield, all of a sudden how's it crack in it? Do you find yourself with car troubles all the time? No matter what car you have. Do you find yourself repeating the same things over and over and over again with a different person, different scenario, but the same patterns. These patterns are huge clues as to what is going on in your subconscious mind. And we want to come at this with the sense of curiosity playful curiosity from a neutral standpoint, right? I urge you to not judge whatever comes up because these patterns have served you in some capacity. In the past. So we want to acknowledge them and thank them for the work that they've done. And also let them know that they're not needed [00:13:00] anymore. So that we can start building new patterns and new beliefs that support where we're wanting to go. So the first step is to become aware of what your patterns are, what your beliefs are. And we do that by being with ourselves, by taking some time to get to know ourselves. By taking some time to journal, to answer questions. And sometimes it's the same question just asked different ways. If you are in my group coaching program called REIGN where I teach you to become the sovereign ruler of your life. I teach you how to identify your subconscious patterns and how to rewire those subconscious patterns so that you can create and manifest the life of your dreams. If you are in REIGN with me, you know, sometimes I asked the same question, like three or four times just worded slightly differently. And each time you come up with a slightly different answer. And if you were in REIGN, you also know that these questions are [00:14:00] key, they are pivotal in uncovering all of those unconscious patterns that we have. That includes what we really want to do with our life. We find that common thread in the answers that we're writing down and being completely, totally honest with ourselves. Like brutally honest with ourselves. In order to start uncovering and peeling back the layers of this onion. So I invite you to take a look at your life right now. Take inventory. What patterns keep repeating themselves? Awareness is the first step. So that's all that I have for you today for this episode. If you would like to be on the wait list for the next round of REIGN. Go ahead and send me an email or a DM. You can find all of my information down in the show notes and we'll get you on the wait list I will let you know more detailed as it gets closer to time to start the next round of REIGN. [00:15:00] And as always, I love you and I will see you next week.
