Ep 14: "High Vibe Only" is Bullsh!t

Jo: Hello, beautiful soul. Welcome back to, uh, the Rise Empire Podcast. I hope that you had a beautiful week and that you enjoyed the meditation last week. Before we dive into today's topic, which is all about our energy again, [00:01:00] We're revisiting that energetics component and raising our vibe, what it means to raise your vibe, toxic positivity that's found in spirituality today and all that goes with it. But before we dive in, I want to just say, That I am so very grateful for all of my listeners who are tuning in every week and listening to me talk. I never thought that this was going to be a thing, and I am so, so proud and blessed and just, ugh. The gratitude that I have for all of you is just enormous. So thank you for being amazing now. Let's dive in, right? Let's just get right down to it. When we talked about energetics last week, and if you haven't listened to that episode, I highly suggest that you go back and listen to the first part of that episode. Because it lays a lot of the groundwork and the foundational knowledge that you need to know before we [00:02:00] dive into this episode. So go back and listen to that if you haven't already, and then hop back on over here. So when it comes to the spiritual community today, I have noticed. So much toxic positivity. And don't get me wrong, I used to subscribe to that belief as well. So I think it might just be something that we go through as we are initiated into this new spiritual journey that we're on. And what I wanna point out today is that high vibe only, or good vibes only mentality, where you think that you always have to be positive in order for things to manifest, or that being around low vibe, quote unquote, low vibe people. Is going to ruin your manifestation efforts. And I am here to tell you that we all have off days. We all have weird energy from time to time. That's just the human experience and trying [00:03:00] to be high vibe only or good vibes only all the time. 100% of the time is a recipe for failure and. Oh my gosh. I can't tell you how often I would think that I was failing, that I was ruining my manifestations because I would have an off day, or I would feel a little bit sad or depressed or anxious, like those lower vibrational energies. And I would think that I would have to start all the way over, that's not the case. So, Let me introduce you to a new way to look at it if you are currently subscribing to this way of thinking, because I want you to have your very best life that you possibly can. So I'm gonna let you in a little secret. Emotions are meant to be felt. We are meant to experience. The whole spectrum of emotion. Were not designed to live solely in those [00:04:00] high vibe states and ignoring or pushing away all of the lower vibrational, not so good feeling energies or emotions. Is going to set you up for a very, very rude awakening because when we don't address these emotions, when we push them down and suppress them, they come to live in our body. They get stored in our bodies as different dis-eases. And something that I found really, really interesting when I was working in psych was that most of my patients had lower back pain or mouth pain, like jaw pain. And what these correlate to in the spiritual sense, the lower back is support, right? That support structure, the family support, the support system that we all need, that community that we all need in order to survive and thrive. And the jaw [00:05:00] and the throat are used for communication. So the people who had the lower back pain didn't feel like they had a solid support structure. And generally because they were in a psych facility and I typically worked on the drug side, so I would see all of the patients who were needing to detox off of opioids or prescription pills or alcohol, whatever that may be for them. And that was their coping mechanism because they didn't feel like they had that support, but the majority of them had sabotaged themselves because of their addiction and their support system crumbled away. if they had a support system to begin with? It was gone. Because of their addiction. So low back pain support system and the throat and jaw pain was typically because people didn't feel like they could express themselves. They didn't feel like they could communicate their wants, needs, desires, whatever that may be to the people [00:06:00] that were around them. So when I tell you that when you suppress emotions or suppress these lower vibrational things and you don't acknowledge them, you don't learn from them, you don't love on them, they are going to become stored in your body. And that stored energy can then manifest in different ways such as pain or disease. Our emotions are designed to give us information so let's do a little, a little imagining for a second. I. I want you to imagine your body and your senses like little antenna. Antenna. What's the plural of antennas or antennas, antenna, whatever it is. You get my point, so I want you to imagine that your senses are antenna's, antenna. Yeah. Your senses are receptors for information that is in your environment and when it picks up on this information, because [00:07:00] everything in our environment is made up of energy. Our senses are picking up on all of these different vibrations. Our senses then bring them in and our mind decodes these frequencies and arranges a representation of those frequencies for us to then be able to navigate. So when you walk into a room and you're like, oh, the energy in here is weird, even if you're the only person in that room. Something could have happened there before you got there, which changed the energy. So there's a whole lot of like complexed nuanced stuff that we can go into. But for this episode, I want to just focus on the fact that everything is energy. Our senses pick up on this energy and they are then translated into a picture or a representation for us to then navigate [00:08:00] and with that perception of what's going on around us, and there's a emotion that's attached to it. And in the book power versus force I believe it's Dr. David Hawkins, goes into the whole vibrational scale of consciousness, which details every emotion and where it falls on a scale of vibration. So the lowest vibration emotions are anger, sadness, guilt, fear, those denser energies. And I want you to just notice that when you're feeling those energies, when you're feeling those emotions, those lower vibrational emotions, you start to feel heavy. You start to feel denser. You start to feel like you are constricting. And as you go higher on the scale, once you get past desire up into happiness and joy and gratitude and love those higher emotions, you start to feel more expansive. You start to feel lighter. [00:09:00] Think of it like a balloon, you have a helium balloon, you're holding onto it with your little string, and you let it go. As that balloon rises higher, because the atmospheric pressure isn't as much, the balloon starts to expand and expand and expand until the point where it gets so high that it pops because it's expanded too much. So when you are that balloon down here on earth, Being anchored down by a person that lower vibrational state, you're not as expanded as you could be. And then as you climb up the ladder of emotion, as you get higher in your frequency, higher in the atmosphere, you begin to expand. You get lighter, you get more expansive. Now having subscribed to that belief system that you have to be high vibe only in order to manifest your dream life or to be spiritual. I [00:10:00] understand what it feels like to feel like you've failed. I understand what it feels like to think that you're never gonna have your dream life if you've had a bad day, but I promise you, everybody has bad days. What our goal is, instead of being high vibe all day, every day, Our goal is to raise our baseline frequency. When you have a thermostat and you set it to 72 degrees, that's room temperature in Fahrenheit. For any of my listeners outside of the us, 72 degrees is what we consider room temperature when you have that thermostat set. And you open the window and it's a hot smoldering day outside, that heat's gonna come in. The air conditioner's gonna kick on, and it's gonna do its best to regulate the room to 72 degrees. And then we're living in Texas, right? So nighttime comes, you keep that window open and it is all of a sudden [00:11:00] 40 degrees outside. Our thermostats still set at 72. The window is wide open and the heat kicks on to try to regulate that temperature back to 72 degrees. We have an internal thermostat that sets our baseline emotional state at whatever frequency we experience most often. So while yes, sometimes being high vibe only and trying to live in that space can raise your internal thermostat, your baseline emotional state, suppressing. On the days where you have an off day or beating yourself up, counters that so it doesn't actually raise your vibration instead. What I invite you to do is take a look at the vibrational scale and I had at one point a challenge called the Raise your Vibe challenge, and I think I might actually bring it back because it was a good one where we dive into that [00:12:00] vibrational scale of emotions. We assess our baseline and then we do some work to raise that baseline a little bit higher, to raise that baseline to call in or attract the life that we desire. So I might actually bring that back. Anyway, take a look at that vibrational scale, and I will leave a link to that scale in the show notes so you can look at it and just evaluate where you are on a daily basis. We all fluctuate. We're human beings, right? We're designed to feel all of the emotions. All of the emotions have something to teach us, but they need to be processed. So next time that you're feeling sad or hopeless or depressed, what I invite you to do is sit with it for a minute. It's uncomfortable. I'm not saying that it's [00:13:00] comfortable. I'm not saying that you will enjoy it, but I invite you to sit with that emotion and sometimes it helps to personify that emotion. Give it a name. Ask it what it wants, befriend it. One of the instructors in my Kundalini yoga teacher training would always tell us to make friends with our emotions or that little negative part of ourselves or the trauma that we were experiencing. He would say, make friends with it. anytime you hear it come up or feel it come up, just be like, oh, hey there again. What's going on? How are you? Just befriend it. Accept it. Because what we're doing when we are being high vibe only is we are pushing that away and rejecting it. And that's a piece of us, right? That's a part of ourselves. We so many of us. Want our partners and our friends to understand that they are accepted wholly by us, and yet [00:14:00] we don't accept ourselves wholly. We push pieces of ourselves away. We bury them down deep, put them in a box in the corner, let it grow cobwebs, and it just kind of festers. Until we have to address it. But if we would take the time to address it as it comes up, our lives would be so much easier, so much more free. And our baseline vibration would be higher because we're taking that time sit with our emotions and transmute them, learn from them, and move on. So next time you're feeling that not so comfortable emotion, sit down with it, acknowledge it, love on it, make friends with it, and you'll be surprised with how this starts to change your life and change your perspective of the things around you. Things that used to bother me don't bother me anymore. I used to get really, really bad road rage, and now I don't anymore. That's [00:15:00] a culmination of a lot of inner work that I've done over the years, but there's not a whole lot that truly bothers me anymore, which is pretty interesting. There are still some things that bother me. But I can imagine continuing to do this work as I get older and wiser that those things will start to become less and less. My life is much more peaceful now, and that's how I want it to be. So how do you want your life to be what is your baseline energetic frequency right now, and let's start to shift it. As I talk about this more, I am 100% going to bring the razor vibe challenge back. I'm gonna revamp it. It'll be done in the Facebook group. I'm not sure when yet, but we're gonna do it because I feel like this is information that everybody needs to have. So we're gonna rerun that challenge I am currently doing the gratitude Challenge 28 Day Gratitude Challenge in the Facebook group. The frequency of gratitude is one of the highest frequencies on the vibrational scale. So tapping into gratitude every day helps to raise your baseline frequency. Go back and do day one and then the next day do day two. Don't try to do them all in one day because that's a lot. And what we're doing is has a compounding effect. So you want to start with day one, take a day to do it, and then move on through the challenge. And I think that's everything that I wanted to say for this episode. So just to recap, You do not have to be high vibe only all day every day. It's not how we're designed to be. We are a human being. We are designed to experience the entire range of emotions. Also, There is a law, a universal law of polarity, which says that everything in this universe has its opposite. Happiness has sadness, hot has cold. [00:18:00] And this law states that these opposites aren't actually separate. These opposites are simply the opposite ends of one spectrum. So heat has cold, and as you move down the spectrum, you get a little less hot, a little more cold. And you keep going until you are just cold, right? So it's all a spectrum. It's not actually two separate things. All of these emotions are part of the same spectrum, and we're designed to experience all of it. We're designed to move up and down on that ladder depending on what we are experiencing. We're designed to have these lower vibrational emotions so that we can understand what it is that we don't want, what it is that made us feel this way in the first place. Learn more about ourselves and the world around us, and then figure out what we do want. Because there's so many of us who know exactly what we don't want, but we have no clue what we really, [00:19:00] really do want. So I'll leave you with that.
